About the product
The organic Fairtrade nut mix combines the best from three regions of origin: aromatic peanuts and wild mountain almonds from Uzbekistan and mild, creamy cashews from Burkina Faso. The nuts are grown and processed entirely in accordance with organic and Fairtrade standards at their source, then vacuum-packed and transported to Hamburg. There they are gently roasted, lightly salted and carefully mixed. The result is a balanced snack with a delicate roasted aroma and natural crunch.
The combination of buttery, aromatic peanuts, mild cashews and slightly sweet almonds creates a harmonious taste experience. Gentle roasting brings out the natural flavours, while a hint of salt rounds off the nutty character – spicy, balanced and pleasantly savoury.
The nut mix provides valuable plant proteins, unsaturated fatty acids, fibre and minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. This combination supports energy metabolism, nerve and muscle function and has an antioxidant effect by protecting cells from oxidative stress. When enjoyed in moderation, the nut mix is a nutrient-rich component of a balanced diet.

The ingredients for this nut mix come from two Fairtrade-certified value chains in Burkina Faso and Uzbekistan.
Cashew nuts from Burkina Faso: Around 2,000 smallholder families grow their cashew trees organically in the region around Bobo Dioulasso. After harvesting, the nuts are processed entirely on site – steamed, cracked by hand, dried and skinned. This local processing by gebana Burkina Faso creates jobs, strengthens the regional economy and ensures fair incomes.
Peanuts and wild almonds from Uzbekistan: The peanuts come from the Urgut region, while the almonds are harvested from wild areas around Samarkand and Tashkent. These natural products are cultivated or gathered by smallholder families and processed entirely in their country of origin by Silk Road Organik Foods – Central Asia's first Fairtrade-certified processor. The regions are located in an arid desert state where water is a central and scarce resource. Irrigation is targeted and economical, using rainwater and meltwater, which is efficiently utilised via traditional pit and dam systems. The nuts are sorted by hand and dried and packaged using energy-efficient methods.
