About the product

Equiori's 70% organic chocolate with cocoa nibs is pure cocoa enjoyment with provenance. It is produced entirely in Colombia – from the cocoa tree to the finished bar. Only certified organic cocoa beans from small farms are used. The high cocoa content of 70% preserves the original character of the cocoa and makes this chocolate a conscious choice for anyone who appreciates intense, dark chocolate.

The dark chocolate with 70% cocoa content and crunchy cocoa nibs tastes strong, slightly tart and yet balanced. The delicate melt of the chocolate meets the crunchy bite of the nibs, fine roasted aromas and notes of coffee and roasted nuts. A pleasant bitterness is accompanied by a subtle fruit acidity, which creates a particularly intense aroma.

Dark chocolate with a high cocoa content is considered a valuable part of a balanced diet when consumed in moderation. Cocoa is rich in flavanols, secondary plant substances with antioxidant properties that can help protect cells from oxidative stress. Cocoa also provides minerals such as magnesium, iron and potassium, which contribute to the normal functioning of muscles, nerves and energy metabolism. The cocoa it contains has theobromine, which gently stimulates and can promote concentration – without the typical nervousness associated with caffeine. Thanks to its high cocoa content, 80% chocolate is a conscious treat for anyone who appreciates chocolate in its pure form.

Ideal as an energy-boosting snack, with espresso or coffee, or chopped up in muesli, porridge and desserts.

The organic cocoa comes from various regions of Colombia, including Tolima, Huila and Antioquia. It is grown by smallholder cooperatives with around 150 affiliated families. After harvesting, the cocoa beans are fermented and dried on site – a key step in developing their complex flavours.

Further processing takes place at Equiori, Colombia's first organic chocolate manufacturer. Here, the beans are gently roasted, ground and conched before being moulded into bars, sprinkled with cocoa nibs and packaged – all in the country of origin. Pakka is a founding partner and co-owner of Equiori and has been involved in the project since 2012.

Equiori stands for Equidad & Origen: fair relationships, transparent supply chains and local value creation. In Colombia, cocoa is considered a "cultivo para la paz" – a fruit of peace – and offers a sustainable alternative to illegal coca cultivation in many regions.

The organic chocolate bars are produced entirely in Colombia – directly in the country of origin of the raw materials. Pakka deliberately focuses on direct trade and avoids intermediaries. Close cooperation with partners Fruandes and Equiori, as well as smallholder cooperatives, strengthens the entire value chain locally. This not only ensures the best product quality, but also creates fair jobs in structurally weak regions of Colombia and contributes to sustainable economic development.
