From an Idea to 20 Years of Pakka
How did it all begin? What has changed over the past two decades? And where are we heading next?
Our founder, Ueli Baruffol, took guests back to Pakka’s early days. He shared the original vision of building a company that would not only be economically successful but also make a positive contribution to people and the environment. Along the way, he reflected on personal memories and experiences from 20 years of entrepreneurship.
Our Managing Director, Thomas von Euw, connected the past with the present and future. He highlighted where Pakka stands today, the developments that have shaped the company and what continues to drive us: fair and sustainable value chains, long-term partnerships and the belief that business success and social responsibility go hand in hand.
How Cashew Trees Create New Opportunities
One particularly inspiring moment was the presentation by Juan Pablo Muriel, who introduced the KardiaNuts project in Vichada, Colombia.
In a region characterised by vast, dry grasslands, cashew trees are being cultivated to create new economic opportunities. The project demonstrates how sustainable agriculture, local processing and long-term collaboration can generate jobs and added value within local communities.
Stories like this show what Pakka has stood for since the very beginning: working together with our partners to build structures that create lasting benefits for people in the regions where our products originate.
An Evening That Brought People Together
Beyond the insights into Pakka’s past and future, the evening offered plenty of opportunities for personal conversations, reunions with long-standing companions and new encounters.
The culinary experience was just as fitting: Best Catering from Winterthur, a long-standing Pakka customer, treated our guests to a delicious apéro. Once again, the team demonstrated how creatively our nuts and dried fruits can be incorporated into a variety of dishes. A heartfelt thank you to Florian Bachofner and his team!
20 Years of Pakka – Thanks to You
If there was one thing this anniversary celebration reminded us of, it was just how many people have contributed to Pakka’s story.
Our partners in the countries of origin, customers, investors, shareholders, current and former employees, friends and family have all played a part in making Pakka what it is today.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who celebrated this special evening with us – and to all those who have accompanied and supported us over the past 20 years and believed in our vision.
