The company Eximcruz was founded in 2011 in Cobija-Pando, Bolivia, and it specializes in the processing and marketing of Bolivian organic Brazil nuts in international markets. The Brazil nuts are sold mainly in Europe, USA and South America.

Bolivia is considered one of the poorest countries in South America, with more than 37% of the population living below the poverty line and 60% of them in rural areas. Eximcruz works with more than 1,000 collectors from indigenous communities in the Amazon and provides permanent employment for 124 women in the region.

Eximcruz started in 2011 with a total production of 2 containers per year and has been able to increase export volumes year after year. In 2022, the company exported around 200 containers of Brazil nuts and has since grown to become one of the strongest export processing companies in Bolivia.

In 2015, Eximcruz started the development of a food safety management system according to ISO 22000, which in the meantime has also been certified.

Currently, Eximcruz buys Brazil nuts from the following

Producer organizations

  • SEFENBO
(ASOCIACION SOCIEDAD DE EXPORTACION DE FAMILIAS EXTRACTIVISTAS NORTE DE BOLIVIA)
